What supplies do you use?

TRADITIONAL SUPPLIES:

WATERCOLOURS: I currently enjoy using Daniel Smith tube watercolours and FineTec Pearlescent watercolours. I first used student grade watercolours from Reeves and Van Gogh and I highly recommend Van Gogh watercolours if you are on a budget.

GOUACHE: I recently purchased Acryla Gouache from Holbein and so far it has been great to work with! I highly suggest working with these straight from the tube.

BRUSHES: I use a lot of synthetic bristle brushes for watercolour and I recommend Royal & Langnickel for great and inexpensive beginner brushes (the silver handles). For more professional brushes, the squirrel hair brush from Raphael and Heinz Kolinksy sable brushes are a joy to work with and are a big step up from the student grade/synthetic watercolour brushes.

PEN & INK: I have been using the Faber-Castell PITT Artist pens in various thickness ( XS, S, B). My most used pens from this brand are the XS and S, they are perfect for fine detail work and stippling.

PAPER: A good budget watercolour paper that I love to use is Canson's Montval watercolour paper. I have tried using other budget-friendly alternatives from other brands, but I keep going back to this. Another one I also recommend is Fabriano's cold pressed watercolour paper. I like using papers with a thickness of at least 140lb.

DIGITAL SUPPLIES:

PROCREATE: I really enjoy this drawing application on my 2nd gen. iPad Pro. It is one of the best, if not, THE BEST, drawing app you can use. With the Apple Pencil, it is such a dream to draw with.

PHOTOSHOP: My trusty Adobe Photoshop is always a handy software, from drawing to editing photos. It is every artist's and designer's most used program.
